A Visit to CSU by Secretary General of the Higher Education Department of Congo (Kingshasa)

On the morning of October 15, President Tian Hongqi met with the party of Ms. Yenga Wivine Wassako, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Higher Education of the Democratic Republic of Congo (Kingshasa), Director of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Higher Education, Bokombe Freddy Boala, and Ngekene Pierre Andre, President of the Foreign Affairs Institute of Congo (Kingshasa).

Tian Hongqi introduced the basic situation of our school from the aspects of school general situation, personnel training system, discipline and professional characteristics. She said that Central South University is a distinctive university with a wide range of disciplines, including non-ferrous metals, medicine, transportation, science and humanities and social sciences. At present, CSU has trained more than 100 outstanding students for Congo (Kinshasa), majoring in minerals, mining and business. We look forward to further cooperation with Congo (Kinshasa) in the construction of Confucius Institute.

Ms. Yenga Wivine Wassako, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Higher Education of the Democratic Republic of Congo (Kinshasa), introduced the institutional arrangements and functions of the Ministry of Higher Education of Congo (Kinshasa), the system of higher education and the mode of personnel training. She hoped that the visit would further promote the cooperation between the Ministry of Higher Education of Congo (Kinshasa) and CSU in the field of education.

After the meeting, the delegation of Congo (Kinshasa) held talks with teachers and students of the French Department of the School of foreign languages.
