A Visit to Hungary and Serbia by A Delegation Led by Yi Hong

From September 12th to 19th, under the promotion of China's "one belt and one road " initiative and Hungary's policy of "open to the East" , Yihong, the secretary of the Party committee in CSU, conducted an 8-day working visit to Hungary and Serbia, in order to promote cultural exchanges between China and Europe and expand channels for cooperation in higher education with Eastern Europe.


Accompanied by Cao Heping, the executive chairman of the Chinese side of the Hungarian-Chinese Friendship Association and a visiting professor of CSU, Yihong and his party visited Budapest University of Economics and Technology, the University of Semevis, the University of Novi Sad in Serbia and the Confucius Institute of the University of Novi Sad. In accordance with the principle of mutual benefit and reciprocity, Yihong has signed framework cooperation agreements with Budapest University of Economics and Technology, the University of Semevis and the University of Novi Sad to promote cooperation between China and Hungarian countries in student exchange, teacher exchange, scientific research and international projects. Through the talks, Chinese and foreign universities have reached a concrete consensus on future cooperation. The cooperation with Budapest University of Economics and Technology will focus on medicine, life sciences, quantum biology, artificial intelligence, and medical data. The cooperation with Senmeis University will focus on biology education and research, health services, traditional Chinese medicine treatment, hospital management, medical quality and the establishment of an international joint laboratory (scientific research center) in Sino-Hungarian universities. Andthecooperation with the University of Novi Sade focuses on student exchanges.

During their visit to Hungary, Yi Hong and his delegation were also invited to visit Duan Jielong, the Chinese ambassador to Hungary, and made a brief introduction to the contents of the agreement signed by Chinese and Hungarian universities and the areas of cooperation. Ambassador Duan highly affirmed the non-governmental exchanges, especially the exchanges between Chinese and Hungarian universities, and expressed his willingness to facilitate and support the cooperation between CSU and Hungarian universities. In addition, Mr. Pest, President of the Hungarian Characteristic Economic Association, Member of Parliament and Visiting Professor of CSU, officially met with the delegation of CSU at the Hungarian Parliament Building and held a grand welcome dinner.

Heads of graduate school, Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges, School of Information Science and Engineering and Xiangya School of Medicine accompanied the visit.
