On December 26, the 21st National College Student Table Tennis Championships, sponsored by Federation of University Sports of China, ended in Tangshan, Hebei Province. CSU won the third place in the women’s team; Guo Jia won the third place in women’s singles; and Zhang Anji and Guo Jia won the third place in women’s doubles
The championships adopted the system of Swaythling Cup in its team competition and contained Grade A (athletes who attended China Table Tennis Super League, China Table Tennis Jia League A Group, National Table Tennis Championships and National Athletic Meet) and Grade B (athletes who were examined and enrolled independently and who were admitted as sports students by colleges). Over 400 athletes from 50 colleges around China took part in the 6-day championships. Guo Jia, Zhang Anji and Hu Keyi, 2015 students from CSU majoring in athletic training, competed in women’s Grade B (high-level) coached by Qu Jianhua.
“Outstanding Coach” was also elected in the championships. Together with Ding Song and Chen Longcan, former world champions, Prof. Qu Jianhua from CSU won the honor.
